AMES, Iowa – Six Cyclones have earned qualifying scores for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships, set for March 9–11 in College Station, Texas, while three swimmers will compete at the National Invitational Championships from March 12–14 in Ocala, Florida.
Kendall Mallers, Grace Swoboda and Anja Peck will represent the Cyclones at the National Invitational Championships.
Kate Mitchell qualified for Zone Diving Championships in all three diving events (1-meter, 3-meter, platform), while Maggie Bendell, Jade Hazes and Iona Moffat earned qualifying scores in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events.
Ally Blumenfeld qualified in the 1-meter and platform events, while freshman Abby Tollefson secured a qualifying score on the 1-meter boards.
Last Time Out – Big 12 Championships
Several Cyclones are coming off strong performances at the Big 12 Championships.
Maggie Bendell advanced to finals in all three diving events, highlighted by an eighth-place finish in the 3-meter A final while also placing 13th in both the 1-meter and platform events. Kate Mitchell reached the B finals in the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform events, finishing 10th, 11th and 12th overall, respectively.
Ally Blumenfeld qualified for finals in both the 3-meter and platform events, earning a ninth-place finish on the 3-meter boards, and a 16th place finish in platform competition. Jade Hazes qualified for the 1-meter B final to finish 16th overall, while Iona Moffat reached the 1-meter C final, finishing 19th overall.
In the pool, Grace Swoboda led the Cyclones in the breaststroke events, finishing fifth in the 100 breaststroke and sixth in the 200 breaststroke after qualifying for the A finals in both races.
Kendall Mallers advanced to the A final in the 200 butterfly, finishing sixth overall, and later posted a National Invitational Championships qualifying time in the 50 butterfly during a time trial. Anja Peck also reached multiple finals at the conference meet, highlighted by a 15th-place finish in the 200 breaststroke B final.
