Iowa State Completes First Day of Big 12 Championships

AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State swimming and diving team completed the first day of the Big 12 Championships Wednesday night in Austin, Texas. The Cyclones are currently tied with Missouri for fourth place with 58 points.
The 200 medley relay team of Kim Schmugge, Petra Plaminkova, Brita Benson and Sam Dyshaw placed fourth with a NCAA consideration time of 1:42.78.
The 800 freestyle relay team of Lauren Breunig, Plaminkova, Jenny Lindberg and Susanne Notbohm swam a time of 7:28.52 to finish fifth.
Competition will resume tomorrow with preliminaries beginning at 10 a.m. and finals beginning at 6 p.m. Results after each event will be posted at texassports.com
