AMES, Iowa - Senior Sam Dyshaw ended her career at Iowa State with her second consecutive trip to the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. The Montevideo, Minn., native clocked a time of 56.72 in the 100 freestyle to finish in 55th place on Saturday morning in College Station, Texas.
On Friday, Dyshaw touched the wall in a time of 1:02.80 in the 100 butterfly (44th place) and on Thursday, the senior recorded a time of 26.36 in the 50 freestyle (71st place).
Throughout her career at ISU, Dyshaw has found many successes. Along with two invitations to the NCAA Championships, she currently owns the school record in the 50 freestyle (22.98), which was set at the 2004 Big 12 Championships. Also, the biology major has been named to the academic all-Big 12 first-team for three consecutive years, with a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
