AMES, Iowa - Iowa State will send two divers to the 2004 NCAA Zone D Diving Championships on Friday, March 12-14, in Houston, Texas. This event is the last chance for divers to qualify for the NCAA Championships held on March 18-20.
The competition will kick off on Friday with the 1-meter springboard event beginning at 11 a.m. The 3-meter springboard will start at 4 p.m., on Saturday, and the platform event will round out the weekend on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
Senior Linda Wagner and sophomore Hillary Nichols will look to extend their seasons this weekend by qualifying on one of the three events.
At the 2004 Big 12 Championships, Wagner recorded the highest-ever finish for a cyclone diver since the inception of the Big 12 with a third-place ranking on the 1-meter board (265.00). Nichols broke her own school record on the platform with a total of 363.30.
