AMES, Iowa - Junior Hillary Nichols placed seventh on the 3-meter springboard with 434.25 points on the first day of competition of the NCAA Zone D Diving Qualifications in College Station, Texas.
Seniors Gail Olson and Katie Herman finished 12th (398.15) and 14th (383.30), respectively.
The Cyclone divers are trying to qualify for the NCAA Championships on March 17-19 in West Lafayette, Ind.
The 1-meter springboard event begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday and the meet concludes on Sunday with the platform at 11 a.m. Daily updates can be found at www.cyclones.com.
