Cyclone Golfers Record a Season-Best Sixth Place Finish at the Mountain View Invitational

TUCSON, Ariz. - The Iowa State Cyclones recorded its season-best team score of 893 after carding a 295-304-294 at the Mountain View Invitational Sunday afternoon. The Cyclones ended in sixth place for a season-best finish.
Junior Christi Athas shot a first round 69, tying the school record low-18 on Saturday, making that the best round of her career. Athas, a native of Eldora, Iowa, fired a 69-73-72 tying the 54-hole school record 214, and finishing a career best 2nd place. Sophomore Karly Pinder recorded rounds of 69-78-77 for a 224 final, good for 25th place. Pinder also tied the low-18 school record, 69.
Sophomore Kendra Hanson shot an impressive third round of 71 after struggling in the first 36-holes. Hanson fired rounds of 78-78-71=227 and tied for 30th. Sophomore Jessica Shin carded rounds of 79-75-74 for a 228 final tally. Freshman Tracy Stanford shot a 79-83-80=242 and finished tied for 74th place.
Kansas won the team title with a score of 884. Adriana Zwanck of Arizona took medalist honors after carding rounds of 69-72-72 for a 213 final score.
The Cyclones will be back in action on April 3-4 at the Nabisco Collegiate Championships in Palm Springs, Calif.
