AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State men's and women's track teams took five titles between the Michael Johnson Classic in Waco, Texas and the Musco Twilight in Iowa City, Iowa over the weekend.
At the Michael Johnson Classic, junior Sara Boisen took first place in the 400-meter hurdles with her best time of the season, 59.20. Senior Ada Anderson also posted her best time of the season in her third place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:07.72.
Senior Tony Douglas found success at the Michael Johnson Classic as he took the title in the triple jump. Douglas had a leap of 48-3 ¼ in his first triple jump competition of the outdoor season.
Top performers for the Cyclones at the Musco Twilight included distance runners David Rotich, Dan Taylor and thrower Chase Madison. Rotich took the 800-meter run title with a time of 1:50.78. Taylor ran a time of 3:53.39 in the 1500-meter run to earn first place honors.
Madison took the first in the discus with a throw of 188-7. Madison also threw the shot put for the first time since injuring his wrist in the indoor season. Madison had a toss of 58-7 ½ to finish in second.
On the women's side of events, senior Nicole Teitsworth took second place in the javelin throw with a throw of 132-0. Nicole Williams also had a second place finish for the Cyclones in the high jump with a height of 5-5.
