Athas Misses Cut At U.S. Women's Amateur

North Plains, Ore.- Iowa State senior golfer Christi Athas missed the cut to advance to the match play portion of the 2006 U.S. Women's Amateur Tuesday afternoon at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, Ore.
Athas, a native of Eldora, Iowa, fired rounds of 86-78 for a two-round 164 tally. The top 64 competitors in the first two rounds of stroke play advance to match play competition, which began today.
Athas and the Cyclones begin fall competition, Sept. 10-11 at the Badger Invitational in Madison, Wis.
