Women's Golf Adds Denmark Native

AMES, Iowa - Iowa State women's golf head coach Christie Martens announced the addition of Victoria Stefansen to the roster for the spring season. Stefansen, a native of Denmark, will provide depth and bring a wealth of international experience to a team that has one senior, Christi Athas. Stefansen will sit out the spring season after a decorated career at EVC Nordvestsjaelland High School in Roervig. Stefansen will join two other freshman on the squad, Pennapa Pulsawath and Ana North.

Stefansen is coming off a stellar senior season where she finished fourth at the Danish Championship and sixth in the district rankings. She also guided her high school team to a 10th-place finish at the European team championships and finished 19th individually at the Sherry Cup in Sotogrande, Spain.

Prior to her senior year, Stefansen earned No. 1 finishes in the Junior Danish rankings as a freshman and sophomore. She aided EVC Nordvestsjaelland to a third-place showing at the Nordic Championship during her junior campaign.

The Cyclones debut the spring season Feb. 23-25 at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in San Juan.
