Pinder, a native of Exeter, Ontario, Canada, fired a 75 at the Allegheny Country Club in Sewickley, Pa., to qualify to the prestigious event. It marks the third season in a row where a Cyclone women's golfer participated in the U.S. Women's Amateur. Christi Athas, who finished her eligibility in the Spring of 2007, competed in the 2005 and 2006 U.S. Women's Amateurs.
All competitors will play two rounds of stroke play with the top 64 players advancing to the match play portion of the tournament. Crooked Stick has hosted numerous national-caliber tournaments, including the 1991 PGA Championship where John Daly won his first major.
Pinder was second on the team in stroke average last year with a 77.93 scoring clip. She led the team with four top-10 finishes.
