AMES, Iowa -- No. 9 Iowa State (11-3) opens Big 12 Conference action with a pair of duals in Oklahoma against No. 18 Oklahoma (11-2) on Friday and at No. 3/6 Oklahoma State (10-2-1) Sunday. The duals will not be televised, but the Oklahoma State dual will be streamed live on the Clone Zone at cyclones.com. The Oklahoma dual will be broadcast on TakedownRadio.com. -ISU picked up its 11th dual victory by downing No. 13 Wisconsin 24-18, Jan. 18 in Hilton Coliseum.
-Redshirt freshman Jon Reader (165) notched his second consecutive dual fall against Wisconsin by pinning Dan Clum in 1:13. Reader leads the squad with 22 wins and has won 15 matches that have resulted in bonus points (six major decisions, four technical falls and five pins).
-In his Hilton Coliseum debut against Wisconsin, true freshman Tyler Clark (125) decisioned three-time NCAA qualifier Colin Cudd 7-6.
-Iowa State has won 69 matches resulting in bonus points (32 major decisions, 15 technical falls and 22 pins).
-Sophomores Nick Fanthorpe (133) and Cyler Sanderson (157) have surpassed 50-career victories. Fanthorpe etched the half-century mark with an 11-4 decision over Wisconsin's Zach Tanelli. Sanderson's came against Kyle Bertin of Northwestern with a 12-3 major decision.
-Fanthorpe leads the Cyclones in takedowns with 41 and heavyweight David Zabriskie has 36. Both Sanderson and Mitch Mueller have 30. Overall, ISU grapplers have taken down opponents 230 times and surrendered 105.
-Head coach Cael Sanderson is one win shy of his 25th career dual victory.
