Cyclones In Fifth After Day One

AMES, Iowa- The Iowa State swimming and diving team is tied for fifth place with Nebraska after day one of the Big 12 Championships.
The Cyclones swam to a fifth place finish and the third fastest time in school history in the 200 medley relay (1:43.77). The team consisted of juniors Marni Benson and Lindsay Wegner and the sophomore duo of Abby Glaser and Frances Calzada.
“We're very happy with the 200 medley relay, they swam to the third fastest time in school history,” said Iowa State swimming and diving head coach Duane Sorenson. “We can't wait to compete in all of tomorrow's events.”
In the 800 free relay the Cyclones took sixth place with a 7:36.62. Competing in the relay was sophomore Lindsey Behrens, and freshmen Jenny Vondenkamp, Chelsea Tomek and Kalyn Amundsen.
