Cyclone Track and Field Hosts ISU Open

AMES, Iowa ? The Iowa State track and field team will open the doors of the Lied Recreation Center Friday and Saturday as the Cyclones play host to the ISU Open. The meet begins at 3 p.m. Friday, starting with the women's weight throw. Running events will take place between 3:15 and 6:20 p.m. Friday.
Competition will resume Saturday morning at 10:25 a.m. with the women's 3,000-meter run. Admission is free.
“This weekend gives us a chance to give some of the Division II and Division III schools an opportunity to compete in our facility,” said ISU head track and field coach Corey Ihmels. “It gives us a chance to run against some good competition as well. We're just excited to be able to open up the season at home.”
Various Division II and Division III schools will be competing, as well as representatives from Drake and Iowa.
