ISU Wrestling to Hold Annual Intrasquad Dual

AMES, Iowa ? The Iowa State wrestling team is holding its annual Cardinal vs. Gold intrasquad dual Friday at 7 p.m. in the Lied Recreation Center on the ISU campus. Cyclone wrestling supporters are encouraged to attend; admission is free.

The event will feature 12 matches. Returning All-Americans Nick Gallick (141), Jon Reader (165), Jake Varner (197) and David Zabriskie (HWT) will take to the mat, along with several of their ISU teammates.

A glimpse into the future of ISU wrestling is in the fold as five Cyclone true freshmen will compete Friday evening. Three Iowa Staters who redshirted last season are also set to wrestle.

Assistant coaches Yero Washington and Chris Bono will coach the Cardinal and Gold teams, respectively.

The winner of the first match of the night between senior Joe Curran and sophomore Billy Lewis will then face returning NCAA qualifier Jerome Ward at 184 pounds.
