AMES, Iowa - The brackets are set and No. 3 Iowa State will head to the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships in St. Louis, Mo. at the Scottrade Center in search of postseason glory. ISU will look to add to its eight NCAA team crowns. Wrestling action begins at 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

? No. 3 ISU won a third-straight Big 12 Conference Wrestling Championship March 7. The
Cyclones had never won a consecutive trio of league titles. Iowa State tied for fi rst with
Nebraska with 70 points. Nick Fanthorpe (133) and David Zabriskie (HWT) notched their
second conference individual titles.
? Iowa State will look to better its fi fth-place NCAA Championships fi nish from a
year ago in the same venue in St. Louis at the Scottrade Center.
? For the 14th time since 1964, ISU will send its entire 10-man lineup to the
national tournament. The Cyclones are the only team sending its full varsity
lineup to this year's NCAA Championships.
? ISU is currently ranked 3/3 in the Intermat/NWCA and W.I.N. Magazine polls, respectively.
? Iowa State returns six grapplers who earned All-America honors at last year's
NCAA Championships: Nick Fanthorpe (133), Nick Gallick (141), Cyler Sanderson

125 Pounds
Iowa Stater Tyler Clark (24-6) is making his second appearance at the NCAA Championships and has been awarded the No. 9 seed. Clark, a sophomore from Bettendorf, faces unseeded Prescott Garner of Navy in the first round. Garner holds a 28-14 record as a freshman. If Clark advances, he could possibly face No. 8 seed Rollie Peterkin of Penn. The top seed is Edinboro's Paul Donahoe (31-0).
133 Pounds
ISU All-American Nick Fanthorpe (20-4) will look to return to the 133-pound awards podium as the seventh seed. Fanthorpe drew unseeded T J Dillashaw of CSU-Fullerton in the first round. Dillashaw has a 27-7 mark as a fifth-year senior. A possible matchup against No. 10 Jake Strayer of Penn State looms in the second round. At the bottom of the bracket, Ohio State's Reece Humphrey is the No. 2 seed.
141 Pounds
Cyclone Nick Gallick (28-4) will be looking to top his fifth-place finish from last year's NCAA Championships as the No. 6 seeded 141-pounder this season. Keith Sulzer of Northwestern is Gallick's first round opponent. Sulzer, a junior, sits at 19-12. A second-round matchup with Chattanooga's No. 11 Cody Cleveland is a possibility. Ohio State's J Jaggers is seeded third. Gallick owns victories over both Cleveland and Jaggers this season.
149 Pounds
Three-time NCAA qualifier Mitch Mueller finds himself unseeded at 149 pounds. Mueller's first-round opponent is Boise State's Jason Chamberlain (26-7). Mueller dropped a close decision to Chamberlain at the NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals in overtime, 2-2 (TB2). In the second round, Ohio State's No. 4 Lance Palmer is a possible foe.
157 Pounds
Returning All-American Cyler Sanderson was awarded the ninth seed at 157 pounds. Sanderson will face unseeded Bryan Deutsch of Northern Illinois (20-10) in the opening round. A possible rematch with Boise State's eighth-seeded Adam Hall could occur in the second round. Sanderson fell to Hall in a close match by decision, 3-2.
165 Pounds
Cyclone Jon Reader is looking to earn All-America honors for the second time as he enters the NCAA Championships with the eighth seed at 165 pounds. Reader (25-6) will face fellow sophomore Ethan Headlee of Pittsburgh in the first round. Headless has wrestled to a 24-14 record this season. No. 9 Brandon Mason of Oklahoma State could be a possible opponent in the second round. Reader has turned away Mason twice this season.
174 Pounds
Iowa State's only at-large qualifier, Duke Burk will enter his first career NCAA Championship as a Cyclone unseeded. Burk opens the tournament with a matchup at 174 pounds against No. 12 Alton Lucus of Hofstra. If Burk advances, the Peoria, Ill. native could secure a rematch with No. 5 Raymond Jordan of Missouri. Burk has dropped two matches this season to the Tiger 174-pounder.
184 Pounds
Cyclone Jerome Ward makes his redshirt freshman debut at the NCAA Championships wrestling unseeded. Ward faces fourth-seeded Kirk Smith of Boise State in the opening round at 184 pounds. Ward dropped a tight decision to Smith at the NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals, 3-1. If Ward claims the upset in his first match, he could secure matchups with two opponents he has already topped this season. Vincenzo DiDona of Central Michigan and Dorian Henderson of Missouri are possible matchups for Ward in the second round.
197 Pounds
ISU's returning two-time NCAA finalist Jake Varner (26-2) finds himself seeded second at 197 pounds. Varner will wrestle Virginia Tech's Daniel Bruce in the first round of action. Bruce, a sophomore, holds a 28-15 record. Duke's Dan Tulley or Logan Brown of Purdue could be possible second round foes for Varner. Nebraska's Craig Brester was awarded the top seed at 197 pounds.
Heavyweight
Iowa State claimed a top seed in heavyweight David Zabriskie (30-2). Zabriskie faces Christopher Birchler of East Stroudsburg (23-5) in the first round. Zach Hammond of Cornell or Dustin Rogers of West Virginia contend to possibly face Zabriskie in the second round. The second seed at heavyweight is Missouri's Mark Ellis.
