Second Big 12 Honor For Stefansen

AMES, Iowa ? For the second time this year Iowa State women's golfer Victoria Stefansen has been named the Big 12 Conference Golfer of the Month. The sophomore continues her stellar play this season as she received honors for the month of February.

The Roervig, Denmark native most recently carded a three-round 228 en route to a tie for 22nd place at the Central District Invite Feb. 16-17. At that tournament in Parrish, Fla., Stefansen tied a career-low for strokes in one round with an even-par 72. She also fired a 234 at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic on Feb. 8-10, receiving a tie for 33rd place.

This marks the second time Stefansen has garnered Big 12 Golfer-of-the-Month status. The team leader in stroke average this season at 76.1, Stefansen tied for first-place honors on Nov. 3 at the Challenge at Wolfdancer Tournament. She followed that up with Golfer-of-the-Month accolades for her play in the month of November.

Stefansen and company will be back on the links Mar. 16-18 at the Baylor Invitational in Waco, Texas.
