Herman Leads Cyclones at Big 12 Championships

LUBBOCK, Texas ? Iowa State women's golfer Laurence Herman fired a 3-over par 75 Saturday afternoon to slide into a tie for 16th place at the Big 12 Championships in Lubbock, Texas. As a team, the Cyclones are currently in 12th place after a second-round 315.
Defending champ Oklahoma State continues to lead the overall race and will go into tomorrow's final round with a six-stroke lead over Texas A&M. Oklahoma is in third, and Kansas, Kansas State and Colorado are all tied for fourth. The Aggies' Ashley Freeman and the Cowboys' Caroline Hedwall share top honors in the medalist race, as both are 1-under par through two rounds.
Herman, a sophomore from Kortrijk, Belgium, now has a two-round 155 tally (80-75). Iowa State sophomore Rachel Reed continues her steady play after carding a 78 on Saturday to sit in a tie for 24th place.
Tomorrow's third and final round will get underway at 8 a.m. Results from the Big 12 Women's Golf Championships will be posted on cyclones.com at the conclusion of the meet.
