COLUMBUS, Ind. - Led by Pennapa Pulsawath, the Iowa State women's golf team sits in second place after day one of the Indiana Invitational in Columbus, Ind. The Cyclones fired a two-round 633 (323-310) on Monday, only seven strokes behind first-place UNLV.
Pulsawath, a native of Bangkok, Thailand, carded a two-round 155 (78-77) and is currently tied for eighth in the medalist race. Sophomores Laurence Herman and Rachel Reed had matching scorecards, as both fired a 159 (82-77) and will begin play tomorrow in a tie for 20th place. Kristin Paulson is the fourth Cyclone to be in the top-25 after recording a two-round 160 tally.
UNLV leads all 14 teams with a 626 (317-309) after day one. The Runnin Rebels' Natasha Krishna and Texas' Nicole Vadermade share the individual lead with a 149. Texas, Michigan and intrastate rival Iowa round out the top five.
