Herman Wins Belgium National Championship

AMES, Iowa- Iowa State junior golfer Laurence Herman won the 2009 Belgium National Stroke Play Championship at the Golf de l'Empereur course last weekend. A native of Kortrijk, Belgium, Herman carded a 1-over 289 tally in the 72-hole tournament with rounds of 72-73-74-70. She finished four strokes ahead of runner-up Chloe Leurquin (293).
Herman, who was third on the team in stroke average last year at 78.9, led the Cyclones at the Big 12 Championships in 2009 with a 14th-place showing.
