AMES, Iowa - The second-ranked Iowa State wrestling continues its road tour to the Northeast to face No. 6 Cornell Sunday in Ithaca, N.Y. The Cyclones (9-2) are winners of their last three duals, including a 2-0 mark in Big 12 Conference action. Cornell holds a dual mark of 3-3-1.
The ISU-CU dual will be broadcast by SportsNet New York (SNY) and Time Warner Cable Sports. Cyclone wrestling faithful can watch the dual with appropriate satellite television packages on Dish (Multi-Sport) and DirecTV (Sports Pack).

? Iowa State's win at No. 10 Oklahoma (21-12) and No. 3 Oklahoma State (20-18) last weekend marks just the second time in Cyclone history (1971) that ISU has won at OU and at OSU in the same season.
? The Cyclones posted their best National Duals finish since 2000, earning second place Jan. 10 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The Cyclones beat Bloomsburg, No. 8 Maryland and No. 3 Ohio State before falling to No. 1 Iowa, 19-12.

Varner Pins To Seal 20-18 Iowa State Victory At OSU
? Iowa State's defending NCAA 197-pound champion and U.S. Freestyle team member Jake Varner pinned sixth-rated Alan Gelogaev of Oklahoma State on the Cowboy's mat Jan. 24 to lead No. 2 Iowa State to a 20-18 victory over No. 3 OSU in Gallagher-Iba Arena. The Cyclones improved to 9-2 in duals and 2-0 in Big 12 Conference action. The Cowboys fell to 8-2-1. It is Iowa State's fourth win in its last five matches against Oklahoma State.
? Varner's 10th fall of his senior season came at the 4:43 mark of the 197-pound bout. The first period's score was 0-0 after several fruitless shot attempts by Varner. Gelogaev elected to take the bottom position to begin the second period and the Cyclones' three-time NCAA finalist ended the matchup with a cradle. Varner is 20-0 this season while Gelogaev is 21-2
? The star-studded dual featured top-10 matchups at 125 pounds, 165 pounds, 197 pounds and heavyweight. Iowa State won three of those four matches.
No. 2 Cyclones Down 10th-Ranked Sooners, 21-12
? No. 2 Iowa State wrestling team was victorious in its Big 12 Conference opener against 10th-ranked Oklahoma 21-12 Jan. 22 in the McCasland Field House. ISU's Jon Reader turned in the standout performance with a technical fall for team bonus points at 165 pounds. ISU improved to 8-2 in duals. The Sooners fell to 12-2-1.
? The dual victory over the Sooners was Jackson's first conference win of his coaching career.
Varner Takes Second Big 12 Honor
? Iowa State's Jake Varner was named the Big 12 Wrestler of the Week, it was announced by the conference Jan. 25. This was the second league honor of the season earned by Varner, and the fourth of his career.
? This is the fourth Big 12 weekly honor received by a Cyclone this season. Varner's teammates Andrew Long (125) and Jerome Ward (184) have been honored this season.
