ATHENS, Ga.- The Iowa State divers wrapped up their second day of competition at the Georgia Diving Invitational Monday. Tien Tran made it to the finals of the 3-meter diving competition and in the finals placed ninth with a score of 273.45.
“Tien was solid in both prelims and finals,” diving coach Jeff Warrick said. “She made improvements in the finals and it reflected in her score. Overall, it is not where I know she can be, but we are able to find changes so that she can begin scoring over 300 again.”
Sophomore Jenn Botsch was the next highest for the Cyclones in 22nd (222.45).
“Jenn had a good day, she had a great first dive and that propelled her through the rest of the round,” Warrick said “She was confident and bounced back when she did make an error.”
ISU finishes up competition tomorrow with platform diving. Preliminaries begin at 11 a.m. with finals immediately after.
