Throwers Climb ISU All-Time Lists From Tempe

TEMPE, Ariz. - The men's and women's throws group were Iowa State's only competitors on day one of the Sun Angel Classic. The hammer throw resulted in five Cyclone personal records.
Junior transfer Josh Koglin took first in the men's hammer throw with a distance of 195-10. Sophomore Zack Richards followed Koglin, finishing second with a throw of 194-07. Koglin's and Richards' marks now rank second and third, respectively, on Iowa State's all-time list.
Junior Britta Christofferson highlighted performance for the female throwers, taking fourth place in the hammer throw, premiere section. Christofferson's mark (186-05) currently ranks second on ISU's all-time list. The remainder of the women's throwers competed in the open section of the hammer throw.
Select members of the Cyclone team competed at Drake in the Jim Duncan Invitational. Competition in Des Moines was highlighted by Devin Allbaugh's performance in the 5,000-meter run. The redshirt freshman finished fourth, with a time of 15:01.65.
The Sun Angel Track Classic resumes tomorrow morning (April 10) at 9 a.m. (PST) with the women's discus throw. The Jim Duncan Invitational also resumes tomorrow at 10 a.m. (CST) with the men's discus.
Results will be posted on cyclones.com at the conclusion of the meets.
