AMES, Iowa- A pair of Iowa State women's golfers were named to the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) Academic All-Scholar team, announced yesterday by the NGCA. Junior Laurence Herman and sophomore Kristin Paulson were honored for the third and second time, respectively, in their career.
All honorees must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and have competed in at least 50 percent of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
Herman, a native of Kortrijik, Belgium, had the second-best stroke average on the team last year at 76.24. She placed 10th at the Big 12 Championships and tied for 12th at the NCAA West Regional, the best finish by a Cyclone ever in a NCAA postseason competition.
