Cyclone Women Tied for 12th at Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. - The Iowa State women's golf team carded a first-round 315 to sit in a tie for 12th place after day one at The Landfall Tradition. The tournament is one of the most competitive of the fall season, consisting of 15 teams ranked in the nation's top-50 according to Golfstat. Third-ranked Auburn leads the tournament by seven strokes over Purdue after firing a 297.
Sasikarn On-iam posted a 77 in the first round to lead all Cyclones. She currently is in a tie for 26th, one shot ahead of Punpaka Phuntumabamrung, who is tied for 32nd after shooting a 78. Prima Thammaraks, Kristin Paulson and Chonlada Chayanun all carded 80s to round out the Cyclone scoring.
Purdue's Paula Reto leads the medalist race after firing a 71.
Second round action begins tomorrow morning with 18 holes, followed by the final round on Sunday.
