Cyclones Tied For Second At Lady Puerto Rico

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico - The Iowa State women's golf team is curently tied for second place after the first round of the Lady Puerto Rico Classic on Sunday. The 26th-ranked Cyclones started their spring season with a 300 this afternoon. Iowa State is 14 strokes behind first place Alabama.
Freshman Sasikarn On-Iam is leading the Cyclones after carding a 72 in the first round, tying her for fifth in the medalist race. Senior Laurence Herman is tied for seventh with a 73. Sophomore Punpaka Phuntumabamrung is currently tied for 17th after posting a 75.
The Cyclones will be back on the links tomorrow morning for another 18 holes. The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with the final 18 holes.
