Stefansen Crowned Big 12 Women's Golfer of the Month

AMES, Iowa - Iowa State senior golfer Victoria Stefansen was named Big 12 Women's Golfer of the Month for the month of February, announced today by the Big 12 Conference. This marks the third time in Stefansen's career she has secured GOM honors from the Big 12.
Stefansen posted two top-10 finishes in the month of February, finishing in a tie for ninth at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic and tying for seventh during Iowa State's tournament-winning effort at the Central District Invitational.
During the second round of the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, the Roervig, Denmark native posted the best single-round score of her Iowa State career, shooting a 69. At the Central District Invite, her 71 was part of Iowa State's late assault to take the title. Her play has helped Iowa State ascend the national rankings to 11th and 16th, respectively, by Golfstat and Golfweek/Sagarin.
Stefansen now has four top-10 finishes on the season after earning two during the fall campaign. She has 12 top-10 showings in her career. Her 74.57 stroke average ranks fourth on the team.
The Cyclones will next hit the links on March 6-7 for the SunTrust Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
