Cyclones In Seventh After First Round of Big 12 Championships

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The 15th-ranked Iowa State women's golf team fired a 300 in the first round of the Big 12 Championships today at the Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia, Mo.
The Cyclones currently sit at seventh place in the wide open race, as Iowa State is only six shots behind first-round leader Texas Tech (294). Early morning rain showers caused a 3-hour delay.
Freshman Prima Thammaraks carded Iowa State's low score in the first round, firing a 74 to put her in a tie for 15th place. Victoria Stefansen and Sasikarn On-iam are tied for 18th after carding a pair of 75s.
Five players share the lead in the individual race at 71.
Teams will play 18 holes in the second round tomorrow, followed by 18 holes in the final round on Sunday.
