PARRISH, Fla. - The No. 36 Iowa State women's golf team finished seventh at the Central District Invitational this afternoon. The Cyclones fired a 298 in the third and final round for a three-round tournament total of 894. The Cyclones played well in a field of top ranked teams, as 11 of the 15 teams were ranked in the top-50 nationally according to Golfstat. TCU won the tournament title at 882.
Sophomore Sasikarn On-iam posted the best tournament of her career, finishing third at 216 after carding a final-round 69. On-iam, who recorded her fourth career top-10 showing, broke her previous career-low 54-hole total, tying for the ninth-best 54-hole score in Iowa State history. It was the second-straight tournament where On-iam carded a 69, which ties her career low round. Freshman Chonlada Chayanun fired a 225 to tie for 24th place. She carded a 74 in the final round this afternoon.
Junior Punpaka Phuntumabamrung tied for 31st at 228.
The Cyclones will be back in action on March 16th at the Clover Cup in Mesa, Ariz.
