AMES, Iowa- Iowa State was named a Scholar All-America team by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America last week.
For the 23rd consecutive season, the team has earned the honor after obtaining a 3.22 GPA for the Fall 2011 semester. Sarah Deis, Elizabeth Kleiner and Sarah Nelson all earned perfect 4.0 GPAs while Mandi Caudle, Sarah Norris and Imelda Wistey all posted above a 3.8. 15 Cyclones made the Dean's List with a 3.5 GPA or higher.
The Team Scholar All American award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented to teams achieving this standard in the fall semester and in the semester of the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships (Winter/Spring).
