AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State track and field team heads back to the West Coast this weekend as the Cyclones take on three meets in California Thursday through Saturday. Iowa State's main focus for the weekend will be the 54th annual Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. Select student-athletes will also compete in the Bryan Clay Invitational on Friday in Cerritos, Calif and the Beach Invitational on Saturday in Azusa, Calif.
Events for the Cyclones at the Mt. SAC Relays begin on Thursday afternoon with the open section of the women's 1,500-meter run scheduled for a 4 p.m. CDT start time. Action for Iowa State at Mt. SAC will resume Friday at noon CDT with the open section of the men's hammer throw and Saturday at 3 p.m. CDT with the Invitational section of the women's shot put.
Several Iowa State athletes will compete in elite sections of the respective events. Elite events for the Cyclones include the Olympic Development sections of the 400-meter hurdles, 5,000-meter run and 10,000-meter run and Invitational sections of the 5,000-meter run, shot put, 4x100-meter relay, 4x400-meter relay and 400-meter hurdles.
Live results will be available for the Mt. SAC Relays. Results will be posted on cyclones.com at the conclusion of each day's events.
