Elahi, Warner Lead Cyclones at Sun Angel Classic

Stanford Invitational Results Sun Angel Track Classic Results

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Iowa State sprinters led the track and field team on the second day of the Sun Angel Classic inside Sun Angel Stadium on Saturday, running to seven personal-best times.

Iowa State senior Kianna Elahi led the Cyclone women with second-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles. Elahi's personal-best time of 56.53 was the top-collegiate time and moves up to second in the event on the Iowa State Outdoor Track and Field All-Time Performer's List.

Senior Ian Warner led the men's squad with a fifth-place finish in the premier section of the 100-meter dash. Warner was the second collegiate finisher with a personal best time of 10.37.

Cyclone newcomer Ejiro Okoro was the lone competitor for Iowa State on the second day of the Stanford Invitational. Okoro posted a personal best time of 2:05.02 in the 800-meter run to finish first in her section and fourth overall in the event.

The Cyclones return to Iowa next weekend to compete in the Jim Duncan Invitational in Des Moines.
