Golfers 16th at NCAA West Regional

ERIE, Colo. - The Iowa State women's golf team is in 16th place after two rounds at the NCAA West Regional at the Colorado National Golf Course in Erie, Colo. The Cyclones fired their second-straight 302 this afternoon for a two-day 604 tally.

Stanford holds the team lead at 580. The top eight teams will advance to the NCAA Championships.

The Cyclones were again led by junior Punpaka Phuntumabamrung, who carded a 73 today to put her in a tie for eighth at 145. Phuntumabamrung has placed in the top-10 in her last three tournaments.

Freshman Chonlada Chayanun is tied for 54th at 152 and Prima Thammaraks is tied for 63rd at 153. Senior Kristin Paulson bounced back with a 75 today to move her into a tie for 91st.

The third and final round will conclude tomorrow.
