Iowa State Ties For 14th At NCAA West Regional

ERIE, Colo. - The Iowa State women's golf team finished in a tie for 14th at the NCAA West Regional, falling 10 strokes shy of qualifying for the NCAA Championships. The Cyclones carded a 296 this afternoon for a three-round 900 total. UCLA and LSU both shot 873 to tie for the team title.
Junior Punpaka Phuntumabamrung led the Cyclones by tying for 26th at 221, shooting rounds of 72-73-76. Freshman Chonlada Chayanun tied for 49th, firing a 74 today to give her a 226 tally. Sasikarn On-iam posted a 72 for the low round of the day for the Cyclones. She finished tied for 85th at 231.
Catherine O'Donnell of North Carolina took home medalist honors at 209.
The Cyclones end their season with their third-straight NCAA Regional appearance and top-40 national ranking. Iowa State loses one senior in Kristin Paulson, returning four of its top five players.
