*The Cyclones currently have five slated in the nation's top-20. Four Iowa State grapplers have earned preseason top-10 rankings in Earl Hall, Michael Moreno, Tanner Weatherman and Kyven Gadson. Lelund Weatherspoon rounds out the group, coming in at No 17 in the ASICS FloRankings.
*Iowa State put on a dominant performance at NIACC's annual Kaye Young Open. The Cyclones swept all 10 weight classes, notching 18 finalists and 24 semifinalists.
*The Cyclones notched 67 bonus-point victories at Kaye Young, scoring 10 major decisions, 14 tech-falls and 43 pins.
*Senior Kyven Gadson returns for his final season in an Iowa State singlet coming off a fourth-place finish at NCAAs last season, marking the second time in as many seasons that the 197-pounder garnered All-American honors.
*Gadson won 30 matches last season, and pushed his dual winning streak to an impressive 30 in a row. He starts the year ranked No. 3 in every major national poll.
*Fellow senior Michael Moreno is also coming off his second-consecutive All-America season. The Urbandale Native finished fifth at the NCAA Championships.
*Moreno was also a 30-match winner last season, compiling a 31-9 season record. He begins the year ranked No. 3, nationally.
*Moreno and Gadson are two of just nine wrestlers in the nation to win at least 30 matches and earn a spot on the NCAA All-America podium in both of the past two seasons.
*Tanner Weatherman and Earl Hall also appeared at the NCAA Championships last season. Weatherman was knocked out in the round of 12, and Hall worked his way on the podium, earning All-America honors in an eighth-place finish.
