AMES, Iowa – A select group of Iowa State track and field athletes will be in action this weekend with the Nebraska Tune-Up, UNI-Dome Open and Alex Wilson Invitational. Live updates and information covering all three events on the weekend will be available on the @CycloneTrackXC Twitter page.
Nebraska Tune-Up
Marine Vallet is slated to compete for the Cyclones in the high jump event at the Nebraska Tune-Up on Friday, Feb. 20 in Lincoln, Nebraska. The men's high jump competition is set to begin at 3 p.m., with the women scheduled to follow.
Iowa State's sophomore jumper currently ranks 21st nationally with a mark of 5' 11.25” (1.81m), which was posted last weekend at the ISU Classic. The France native currently sits third on Iowa State's all-time top-performers chart in the high jump, as she looks to improve her season-best mark before the Big 12 Indoor Championships next weekend.
Fans, coaches and athletes can follow the action as it happens with live results from the Nebraska Tune-Up.
UNI-Dome Open
The Cyclones will send a pair of sprinters in Jared Ingram and Logan Schneider to compete in the UNI-Dome Open on Friday, Feb. 20 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Ingram and Schneider competed in the 60 and 200-meter dashes at the ISU Classic, combining for two top-15 finishes.
Ingram clocked a 7.07-second time in the 60-meter for a 14th-place performance, while Schneider finished 15th in the 200-meter in a time of 22.33, a personal record for the Iowa State freshman.
Alex Wilson Invitational
Brian Biekert, Derek Jones, Ed Kemboi and Patrick Peterson will travel to South Bend, Indiana, on Saturday, Feb. 21 to compete in the Alex Wilson Invitational. The gun is set to fire at 12:05 p.m. for the men's distance medley.
The last time this squad was on the track for the distance medley was at the end of January at the Razorback Invitational where they crossed the line in a time of 9:34.36 for fifth-place. The Alex Wilson Invitational will serve as a final opportunity for the Iowa State men's distance medley team to post an NCAA qualifying mark before the Big 12 Indoor Championships next weekend.
