AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State swimming and diving team was named a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team for the fall 2014 Semester. As a team, the Cyclones recorded a 3.28 grade point average to earn a spot on the fall scholar team list.
This marks the 26th consecutive season the squad have received the award.
“We are very proud of winning this award again. Our women set this award and a team GPA above 3.20 as a goal every year, and they have gone out and achieved that,” Iowa State head coach Duane Sorenson said. “The countless hours many of our women spend in the lab and studying is unbelievable, and they're not just taking easy classes. There's microbiology, pre-med, people going into teaching and chemistry majors, so it's quite an honor to achieve this at Iowa State.”
The award recognizes college swimming and diving teams who have achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher in the fall semester or quarter.
