NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Iowa State men's track and field team earned the No. 24 spot in the latest national rankings, the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Monday. With just days remaining until the NCAA Indoor Championships, the Cyclones rejoined the top-25 after being bumped from the polls on March 2.
Iowa State has been consistently ranked inside of the top-25 throughout the 2015 indoor season, earning a spot in the polls five-of-eight weeks on the year, including a No. 19 preseason rank. The former 15th-ranked team on the country, Kansas State was dropped from the latest top-25.
With the final polls scheduled to be released following the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 13-14, the Cyclones will have a strong opportunity to defend their current rank with the distance medley team, Ed Kemboi (800-meter run) and Cameron Ostrowski (high jump) scheduled to compete in Fayetteville, Arkansas this weekend.
