IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa State's Elyse Brouillette concluded her 2014-15 season with an 18th-place performance in the platform diving event at the NCAA Zone 'D' Diving Championships on Wednesday. Brouillette posted a prelim score of 218.80, followed by a 208.85-point effort in finals for a 427.65 total.
With a share of 17th-place in prelims, Brouillette earned her first finals bid at an NCAA Zone Diving Championship in her three year career. The Omaha, Nebraska native improved upon her 22nd-place, 188.25-point performance on platform during last year's zone diving championships by over 30 points.
"I was really happy with Elyse's performance today. She was solid the whole way through prelims and finals," Iowa State head diving coach Jeff Warrick said. "In this environment, when you're getting up there around your personal best at zones, you're doing a really good job."
Julie Dickinson and Sydney Ronald finished in 24th and 28th-place, respectively, for the Cyclones with scores of 190.45 and 172.80.
"As a team, today was definitely our best performance," Warrick said. "Overall, for the three days, I thought we did okay. We just need to keep improving, and I need to figure out ways to help them so we can have our best meet of the year at zones."
