Chayanun Named Big 12 Golfer of the Month

IRVING, Texas – Iowa State senior golfer Chonlada Chayanun was named Big 12 Women's Golfer of the Month for the month of February, announced today by the league office.
A native of Nakhonratchaslma, Thailand, Chayanun was outstanding in two tournaments for the Cyclones in February. She tied for 24th at the UCF Challenge (217) and then ended the month by claiming medalist honors at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, her first career tournament title.
Chayanun was the wire-to-wire winner in Puerto Rico, carding a school-record 209 (66-69-74) tally against a field which featured nine teams ranked in the nation's top-50. Her first-round 66 is the second-best 18-hole score in school history.
Chayanun shot in the 60s in four of her six rounds during the month. She has eight top-10 finishes in her career.
