AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State track and field teams return to action this weekend in Lincoln, Nebraska at the Holiday Inn Invitational. The Cyclone men and women will compete on Friday and Saturday, with Friday competition beginning at 4 p.m., and Saturday events going off at noon.
Live results will be provided by Nebraska, here. Updates on the progress of the Cyclones will be provided on the Iowa State Track and Field Twitter account, @CycloneTrackXC.
The Iowa State women's team will see a lot of new faces making debuts this weekend. Andrea Grove-McDounough's middle distance squad will be featured prominently, with entries in the 800-meter run, 1,000-meter run and mile and the distance medley relay. As many as nine Cyclone freshmen women could make their debut in Lincoln this weekend. Among the vets in action will be Alyssa Gonzalez, Maryn Lowry, Maddie Nagle and Kaci Storm.
The Cyclone men will feature a couple of its stars this weekend. 2015 Outdoor All-American Decathlete Taylor Sanderson will compete in the 60-meter hurdles and long jump as he prepares for later multi-events in 2016. Outdoor NCAA Regional qualifier Derek Jones will also be in action, taking part in the 600-meter run. After Deon Sanders made his debut last weekend at the Penn State Relays, another three Cyclone men could make debuts this weekend, with Davis Eldridge, Tyrell Erb and Finn Hoogensen all entered to compete this weekend.
