GOLF, Ill. – The Iowa State women's golf team is tied for eighth after two rounds at the competitive Windy City Classic. The Cyclones carded rounds of 286 and 297 for a 583 total this afternoon.
Georgia currently holds a four-shot lead (564) over USC in the team race.
The Windy City Classic field is one of the best in the nation, featuring eight teams ranked in the Golfweek top-20.
Sophomore Chayanit Wangmahaporn is leading the Cyclones after two rounds with a 143 tally, posting scores of 70 and 73. Wangmahaporn had seven birdies on the day and only one bogey on her card in her first-round 70.
Junior M.J. Kamin had a solid first day, carding rounds of 70 and 75 (145) to sit in a tie for 23rd. Her first first-round 70, which featured five birdies, was a career low.
The third and final round will conclude tomorrow.
