AMES, Iowa – Just five days after breaking a school record on the one-meter board, diver Elyse Brouillette has set another all-time record at Iowa State.
The senior was named Big 12 Diver of the Week for the fifth time in her illustrious Cyclone career, the league announced Thursday, making her the first member of the Iowa State swimming and diving program to earn the honor five times.
It is the third time this season that Brouillette has taken home the honor and the fourth time a Cyclone has done so this season, which is also a new program record.
This week's award encompasses Brouillette's final two regular-season meets at Iowa State, including a first-place finish on the one-meter board in a double-dual against West Virginia and Villanova.
The Omaha, Nebraska, native followed that up with two first-place finishes against Kansas last weekend, highlighted by school-record score of 322.20 on the one-meter board on Senior Day. Brouillette's mark of 324.00 on the three-meter board came within 5.5 points of her personal record.
The Iowa State swimming and diving team has less than two weeks off before returning to the pool in Austin, Texas, for the 2016 Big 12 Championship meet Feb. 24-27.
