TUCSON, Ariz. – The No. 16 Iowa State women's golf team sits in second place headed into the final round of the MountainView Collegiate after carding a 578 after 36 holes this afternoon. The Cyclones are just eight shots behind first-place Georgia (570) at 6-under.
The Cyclones were led by freshman Chayanit Wangmahaporn, who sits tied for second overall after tallying a 36-round score of 142. Wangmahaporn tallied six birdies in the first round as she finished 2-under par for a score of 70.
Celia Barquin also sits in the top-10 as she recorded rounds of 72 and 73 respectively and sits at 10th overall.
Of the 15 teams in the field, Iowa State is one of six ranked teams. The Cyclones trail only fifth-ranked Georgia.
The final round of play will take place tomorrow.
