CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia – The Iowa State track and field teams saw a trio of runners earn personal best marks during competition Friday evening. The Iowa State women were in competition at the Virginia Challenge, while the Cyclone men took part in the Stanford Twilight.
Jasmine Staebler moved into Iowa State's all-time top-10 in the women's 800 at the Virginia Challenge. Meanwhile at Stanford, Daniel Everett and Brandon Wheat each recorded personal bests and second-place finishes on the evening.
Virginia Challenge
Iowa State began action at the Virginia Challenge with a trio of 800-meter runners on the women's side taking the track at Lannigan Field. The highlight of the evening came from freshman Jasmine Staebler, who continued to demonstrate her abilities across the middle distances. The Guttenberg, Iowa native finished third in section one of the half-mile in a personal best 2:06.85. Her time moves Staebler into the all-time top-10 for the event at ISU in ninth.
Also competing in Charlottesville in the 800 were Erinn Stenman-Fahey, who finished second in section two in 2:08.47, and Evelyne Guay, who closed out the evening for the Cyclones with a 2:09.74 to finish fourth in section three.
Stanford Twilight
The Cyclone men were in action at Stanford, with a pair of Iowa Staters leaving Palo Alto with personal bests and second-place efforts. In the men's 800, Brandon Wheat went under 1:50 for the first time in his outdoor career, clocking in at 1:49.98. Jacob Aune finished sixth in 1:51.33.
In the men's 5,000-meter run, the Cyclones were led by Indoor All-American Daniel Everett, who raced his way to second in the 5K in a personal best 13:55.13. Fellow Cyclone Brian Llamas took 10th in 14:08.00.

Iowa State will be back in action tomorrow at the Virginia Challenge, and will also be competing at the LSU Alumni Gold, John McDonnell Invitational and Musco Twilight.
