Hillman Named to CoSDIA Academic All-District Team

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State track and field's Christina Hillman has been named to the 2016 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Men's and Women's Track & Field and Cross Country team, CoSIDA announced Wednesday.

This marks the second-straight year that Hillman has been named Academic All-District, making her eligible to be a Capital One Academic All-American. The redshirt senior, and Spring 2016 ISU graduate was a First Team Academic All-American last year.

Hillman, who graduated earlier this month with a degree in Child, Adult & Family Services, maintained a 4.0 GPA, and was a four-time First Team honoree on the Academic All-Big 12 track and field team.

In competition, Hillman is a six-time All-American, who this weekend will continue her pursuit of another All-America honor at the NCAA West Preliminaries. The Dover, Delaware native is a two-time NCAA Champion in the shot put, sweeping the indoor and outdoor titles in 2014. She is also a three-time Big 12 champion in the shot put. Hillman is Iowa State's school record holder in the shot put both indoors (59-6 3/4) and outdoors (58-2), and ranks third in ISU history in the discus (171-1).
