Cyclones Tie For 13th At NCAA Shoal Creek Regional

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The No. 17 Iowa State women's golf team tied for 13th at the NCAA Shoal Creek Regional in Birmingham, Alabama.
The Cyclones fired a final-round 310 this afternoon for a 54-hole 944 tally.
No. 8 Northwestern was the team champion at 887, defeating No. 22 Florida State by 18 shots (905).
The top six teams advanced to the 2016 NCAA Championship, May 20-25 at the Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Oregon.
Senior Cajsa Persson finished off her Cyclone career on a high note by firing a 73 in the final round. She finished the tournament in a tie for 24th at 230 to lead all Cyclones. Freshman Parinda Phokan tied for 36th at 232.
The Cyclones posted another fantastic season, establishing school records in multiple categories. Five Cyclones recorded a top-10 finish a total of 12 times, and three were ranked in the nation's top-100 at one time during the season. ISU returns four of its top-five players next season.
