Swimming and Diving Announces 2016-17 Schedule

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State swimming and diving head coach Duane Sorenson announced his program's schedule for the 2016-17 season Tuesday. The season features a slate of four chances to catch the Cyclones competing at home in Beyer Pool.
The Cyclones open the year with the Alumni Cardinal and Gold meet Sept. 30 and kick off the competitive season Oct. 8 when rival Nebraska comes to town.
The Iowa State divers will attend a pair of invitationals this season, including Missouri's Mizzou Invite Nov. 17-19 and Minnesota's Jean Freeman Invite Dec. 2-3. For the second-straight year, the swimmers will compete at The Big Challenge, hosted by Kansas Nov. 18-20.
The annual Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series meet is set for Dec. 9 in Iowa City. The Cyclones round out their home schedule by hosting West Virginia and Northern Iowa Jan. 21 and Jan. 28, respectively. The meet against Northern Iowa will serve as senior day.
Iowa State's regular season ends with a trip back to Kansas for a Big 12 dual meet. The Cyclones will then have a few weeks off to prepare for the 2017 Big 12 Championships in Austin, Texas.
