NORMAN, OKLA. — The Iowa State women's golf team finished the day in seventh after completing the first two rounds at the Schooner Classic. ISU recorded totals of 294 and 286, respectively. Florida State is in first place at 549 heading into the final round.
Freshman Amelia Grohn — the youngest member of this ISU team — led the charge for the Cyclones on Saturday. In just her second collegiate meet, Grohn posted back-to-back under-par rounds (70 and 70), placing her in a tie for 11th in the individual competition. Alongside Grohn, also finishing at two-under, was sophomore teammate Chayanit Wangmahaporn — posting rounds of 71 and 69, respectively.
Junior Celia Barquin was next in line for the Cyclones, posting a 36-hole total of 147 (5-over par).
The Schooner Classic will conclude either tomorrow or Monday, depending on the weather. If, as expected, the final round cannot be played tomorrow, the tournament will resume at 9 a.m. on Monday.
