AUBURN, Ala. - The Iowa State soccer (4-1-0, 0-0-0 Big 12) team topped the Georgia Bulldogs (2-3-1, 0-0-0 SEC), 2-0, at the Auburn Soccer Classic on Sunday afternoon to win their fourth-straight game and second-straight shutout. Freshman Tegan Alexander scored her second game-winning goal of her career and freshman Hannah Cade scored her first goal in the contest.

Turning Point of the Game
In the 24th minute, attacking midfielder Hannah Cade received the ball near the center line and went straight at the Georgia defense. She sent the ball off to the right where right back Sasha Stinson was making a long run. Stinson took the ball down to the end line before making a great cross into the six where Tegan Alexander was in place to score it.
In the 87th minute, sophomore Klasey Medelberg got past a couple Bulldog defenders before making a pass right to the feet of an unmarked Hannah Cade. Cade was able to make a clean touch before putting the ball into the back of the net to the left of the keeper to put the game away.

Cyclone Game Ball Goes to...
Lindsey Hendon. The junior goalkeeper recorded her third shutout of the season and her second of the weekend. Hendon tallied four saves in the win on Sunday, as well as seven saves Friday night against No. 21 Auburn. She did a great job of keeping the back line cohesive all weekend.

Coach Said It
"I thought we were pretty sluggish at the beginning of the game. You're coming off of a win against a top-25 team, and it's a Sunday and it's hot. We ended up getting the energy we needed. Sasha Stinson made a great play to get the assist to Tegan Alexander for her second goal. Coming out in the second half, I thought we were better, but we still weren't finding the feet or the energy that we needed to play quality soccer. That being said, we defended very hard and closed down the lanes. Madi Ott and Brianna Johnson went the full 90 minutes after a full 90 on Friday. They were fantastic. We got the goal to close it out on Hannah Cade's first goal. We won the weekend, 2-0, and, at the end of the day, that is what we are going to go home with."
