HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. – The Iowa State women's golf team finished eighth at the Windy City Collegiate, carding a three-round 876 total.
Arizona State won the tournament, which featured six teams ranked in the top-20 nationally according to Golfweek, at 851. The Sun Devils edged out second-place Oklahoma State by four strokes.
Junior Chayanit Wangmahaporn led the Cyclones by recording her ninth career top-10 finish (T9th) at 215. Wangmahaporn carded rounds of 71-71-73. She had three birdies in her final round this afternoon.
Sophomore Amelia Grohn jumped into a tie for 20th after posting a final-round 71 this afternoon. She had five birdies in the final round to help her finish the tournament at 219.
Senior Celia Barquin Arozamena tied for 28th at 221 (72-70-79).
The Cyclones will conclude their fall portion of the schedule at the Stanford Intercollegiate, Oct. 16-18.
